Is the blade MQX quadcopter drone the best choice

There are quite a few quadcopters available for beginners nowadays but not all of them are as good. One of the most popular ones out there is the Smya X1. It is quite durable and also has a 2.4 GHz transmitter. It's also very easy to fly. You can even flip it at the touch of a button which is quite a nifty trick.

But this article is about the Blade mQX. The first impressions of the drone are quite impressive. It is almost the same size as the Smya but has much better performance. It even comes with a built in DSM 2 receiver which is quite fascinating considering most quadcopters usually come with proprietary transmitters or receivers and you may find it hard to make it work with your transmitters unless you hack it. But with this quadcopter, you will be able to bind it to all DSM2 compatible radios like Spektrum radios. This means that you will no longer have to lug a set of radios around but can program all the models into a single transmitter. Continue reading this.

It usually comes with something called a + configuration initially. This means the top arm of this '+' sign means forward. This configuration is easier for beginners to understand and it will be a lot more stable and although it will respond to any commands a little slower. But this makes it harder for you to lose control as well. You will easily be able to switch it to 'X' mode too which provides a more advanced experience. It becomes harder to tell which side is front though in this mode which is why it is recommended that you paint the front propellers a different color so you can distinguish them from the rear ones.

The battery with this model is the 1S 3.7 C 500 mAh Li-Po battery which can run for as much as 10 minutes on a single charge. It takes around forty five minutes to charge completely. So you may consider getting a few extra batteries if you want to be able to fly it continuously for long periods of time. They aren't too expensive and shouldn't dampen your fun one bit.

And do not worry about crashing the drone. As long as there is grass all around you, it can crash just about anywhere without taking too much damage because of the strong carbon fiber spars as well as the plastic canopy. Plus, it's so light there will never be lots of momentum when you crash.
